Comprehensive education and training for early childhood education and care
We offer tailored education and training about our DaisySystem and about early childhood education. We offer training in person for how to use the DaisySystem and how to get the best out of it. We also offer Daisy webinars on topics such as how to make the most of the latest features of our software.
In addition to these, we also offer education and consultation in early childhood education related issues, such as current topics in childhood education e.g. the National Core Curriculum for ECEC and Lapset puheeksi (‘Let’s Talk about Children’) training.
The DaisySystem training sessions focus on guiding our DaisySystem customers (such as administrators and childcare staff) on how to use Daisy on the computer and on smart devices.
DaisyWebinars deepen our customers’ knowledge about the DaisySystem with the help of the GoToMeeting technology. This makes participation possible at home as well as in the workplace.
We have recently expanded our training and consulting service to DaisyVaKa (DaisyECEC). We offer education and consultation about new topics in early childhood education and give new tools for pedagogical work in early childhood education.
To make everyday life in the field with Daisy as easy as possible, we offer versatile implementation education about the DaisySystem. The implementation training sessions are organized when Daisy is first being adopted by an organization. Tailored revision education and advanced education is offered to customers based on their needs and wants.

Daisy training for child and group learning plans in early childhood education
The purpose of this training is to explore and discuss both child and group learning plans in early childhood education. The goal is to create a strong foundation for the employees for working with child and group learning plans. It is important for the employee to understand the national basis for a child’s early childhood education plan, comparing it to the Finnish National Agency for Education’s national early education core curriculum.
Some of the core focus areas are the participation of the guardians and the children, and the evaluation of the child’s progress in relation to the child’s early childhood education plan. Evaluation supports and guarantees the participation of the guardians and the children, and the functioning of the child’s early childhood education plan as a practical tool in ECEC. The child’s early childhood education plan is meant to be as transparent as possible for the guardians so that it is possible to assess the curriculum’s fulfillment also at home.
The Group early childhood education plan requires and supports intensive teamwork in the planning-fulfillment-evaluation processes relating to the pedagogic activities. This can also be utilized in group discussions (such as in team agreements).
To help you become fully familiar with sections of Daisy you are not familiar with, we organize webinars about them. In addition to introducing new functionalities, we also deepen the knowledge about the advantages of using the DaisySystem. It is possible to participate in these webinars nearly anywhere as participation only requires a working internet connection. Participants can ask questions, take part in the discussion in chat and interactively discuss topics with the educator.

In addition to our DaisySystem customers, we offer education and consulting concerning topics and methods in early childhood education for everyone who is interested. These education sessions teach you how to support a child’s growth and development and give tools for professional communication and interaction.

Educating and developing are close to my heart. I have experience of twenty years as an early childhood education teacher from pre-primary education, open early education and special early childhood education. I have taught early childhood education and Lapset puheeksi -method to practical nurses, different municipalities’ employees in early childhood education and Daisy customers.

Everyday life in early childhood education, its developing and teaching are familiar to me from many years. I’ve worked as an early childhood education teacher in a group and now almost twenty years as an regional special teacher in early childhood education. Currently, I also teach students studying early childhood education in University of Oulu in addition to my own work. Educating and guiding early childhood education professional have always been a significant part of my job.
My strengths in educating are pedagogic methods, support of growth and learning, multidisciplinary cooperation and teaching supporting communication (pictures and sign language). In addition to this, I’m also a Ryhmätheraplay- and Muksuoppi -mentor, which is why teaching children’s self-regulation- and emotional intelligence to early childhood education personnel are extremely important to me.

I have a several years experience as a lecturer in University of Lapland, nowadays I work in early childhood education faculty in University of Oulu. I’ve worked as an educator and specialist in educational equality related questions, where we have used storytelling in basis of education. Also, guiding different groups of professionals in education is part of my job. In my doctoral thesis, I studied early childhood education teachers job in a power and equality practices point of view.
My versatile know-how extends from early childhood education to adult education. My educational strengths include among other things, equality, gender studies and professional identity. I have written articles about these topics and I’ve published a book called Villit ja kiltit, Tasa-arvoista kasvatusta tytöille ja pojille (2012), where gender sensitive education is studied.
Lapset puheeksi discussion is a method stemming from the Toimiva lapsi & perhe work (‘Functioning Child & Family’). It supports children’s development and growth, especially when there are difficulties in the child’s life, or when a hurtful pattern between a child/youth and their environment is detected.
In Lapset puheeksi training, the staff are taught to use a family oriented discussion method in their work. We familiarize the staff with using a different type of method to approach families and children, and their life situations as a whole. In these discussions we highlight the strengths and worries of the family’s life situation. The child’s well-being and elements affecting it are studied broadly, keeping also in mind the development environment of the child as a whole.
The training includes the whole Lapset puheeksi method step by step – including exercises as well as the basic steps of professional interaction related to the method. The education package includes contact lectures either 3*4h or 2*6h (12 hours) plus exercises. The size of the group can be between 10 and 20 persons. The Lapset puheeksi manuals for early childhood education and school include the background theory and a log book.
In the future, employers will expect good interaction skills from their employees. These expectations have a significant impact on productivity and well-being at work, among other things. In the ‘Frictionless Communication’ process (Kitkaton kommunikointi (KIKO)), leadership, productivity and well-being at work are studied on the individual level, work community level, and the organization level. As the process proceeds, chosen sectors are developed with the means of professional interaction and communication. This education is tailored based on the customer’s wishes and needs.
The National Core Curriculum and Child’s/Group Learning Plan training can be tailored based on the needs and wishes of the customer. If needed, the training is also possible to arrange as a webinar (partly or in whole).
